Daffest is our great big May event to celebrate the coming of spring with the blooming of thousands of daffodil bulbs throughout the Saranac Lake area. Each year the number of bulbs increases as the celebration grows. Come welcome spring with us from May 5–8.
There are several popular and fun family friendly Daffest events you won't want to miss, including the sixth annual Daffest Derby, Daffest Zoom in Bloom 5K, and Mother's Day Paint Event. Check out the full event schedule to learn more.
arts all over
Saranac Lake enjoys being a haven for the arts. No matter the time of year, you can find arts events or gallery openings and exhibits. The music and arts scene in the region is vibrant and fills the calendar.
BluSeed Studios has a wide range of events on its schedule, including music and art exhibits. There's also an art exhibit opening at the Adirondack Artists Guild on June 3, featuring the works of local artist Eleanor Sweeney.
The famous Third Thursday Art Walks kick off in June, but on May 5 there'll be a preview during Daffest. Studios and arts-based businesses are open late and there's music in the streets, bringing a truly vibrant vibe to the Historic Downtown district
The waterhole is back!
The Waterhole, Saranac Lake's iconic downtown bar, has been re-opened under new ownership and has an ambitious schedule of free concerts, starting with the regionally renowned Blind Owl Band on May 12. We're all thrilled to know the free outdoor concert series Party on the Patio will continue every Thursday evening through the fall!
Up the river with a paddle
Saranac Lake's pulling out all the stops in June to celebrate one of our favorite pastimes - paddling! Celebrate Paddling is a new month-long celebration which will include several paddling-related events.
One of best events will be the inaugural Corrugated Cardboard Boat Races on June 25 at Prescott Park on Lake Flower. Make your own cardboard boat and see if you can stay afloat long enough to sink the competition. Find the information and rules for the competition and join the fun.
The waterways surrounding Saranac Lake are some of the most extensive and concentrated in the Adirondacks. Come help us celebrate being on the water by getting out on the water yourself!
What SUP?
The Adirondack SUP Festival celebrates everything about stand up paddling. Taking place at the Lake Colby Public Beach on the weekend of June 17–19, you'll be able to try out all kinds of boards, paddles, and related accessories from local and regional vendors at this very popular event. You'll even be able to buy your own board right on the spot! The organizers have also put together some paddle tours and fun races for this great weekend on Lake Colby!
don't miss all the rest!
There are many more events filling the early summer schedule in Saranac Lake, so be sure to check the entire calendar. While you're at it, check our lodging options and stay a day or more so you don't miss all the fun in the region!
