In any season, Saranac Lake is a wonderful place. With modern amenities at the various lodging properties around town, it might slip your mind that Saranac Lake has a rich history that set the foundation for Adirondack hospitality. In the early 1900s, there were double digit hotels in the village and surrounding area to accommodate travelers, and tuberculosis patients and their visiting families. Hospitality is in Saranac Lake's DNA. That hospitality is evident everywhere, especially in the wide range of lodging options, from grand hotels to quaint bed & breakfasts - and everything in between.
Saranac Waterfront Lodge
The newest addition to the Saranac Lake family of lodging options is the brand new Saranac Waterfront Lodge. Located right on the shore of Lake Flower, the Waterfront Lodge offers a whole new experience for those visiting and living in Saranac Lake.
With a couple of restaurants - open to the general public, of course - and fireside seating with craft cocktails, the Lodge is a great place to stay, meet up with friends, or just enjoy some quiet time by the lake.
The Lodge is also the first and only LEED Certified lodging property in the Adirondacks, so guests can rest assured that their stay will be not only world-class but also easy on the environment. So kick back and relax in the spa-style rooms, enjoy a signature cocktail by the lake, and let the worries of everyday life just melt away.
Hotel Saranac
Situated downtown and a mainstay of the community for nearly a century, the Hotel Saranac recently underwent a multi-year and multi-million dollar renovation. And while the TVs and rooms got upgraded, the classic charm of the Great Camp era lives on.
The Hotel Saranac’s elegance starts on the street and carries through every room on the property, which includes a number of suites. From the marble lobby to the amazing fare of the Campfire Grill, the hotel makes a wonderful first impression.
But don’t just dip in your toes! Check out the Ampersand Salon and Spa, gift shop, and the wonderful rooms as well. And while you’re here be sure to have a drink in the second floor Great Hall - one of the most magnificent spaces in the area.
Hotels and motels
While the big hotels of Saranac Lake offer lots of amenities like workout rooms, dining, and spaces to sit back and relax, sometimes a mom and pop place is what you’re looking for.
From the historic White Pine Camp to classic — yet modern — drive-up motels, to the indoor pool of the Best Western, Saranac Lake is home to a wide variety of places that are clean, affordable, and where you can rest up for the next big adventure.
B&Bs
Saranac Lake’s long-held tradition of fine lodging continues in many forms, but some of the most intimate experiences to be had will be found at one of our inns or bed and breakfasts.
Enjoy peaceful solitude in your own accommodation at Branch Farm Bed and Breakfast or make the easy walk back to your room after dinner and beer at the Lake Clear Lodge. Bring a pile of books and read to your heart’s content on a quiet country road or stay right in the heart of town — relax however you prefer.
Saranac Lake’s lodging options go perfectly with our welcoming downtown, great food, awesome beer, and outdoor adventures. So no matter your style, book a room or reserve an Adirondack cottage and stay for a while.
