While Saranac Lake is in the middle of the Adirondack Park, it's an easy drive from major urban areas like Syracuse, Rochester, Albany, Burlington, Boston, New York City, Montreal, and Ottawa. However, if you want to fly here, the Adirondack Regional Airport provides quick and direct access to the region.

The Adirondack Regional Airport, located in Lake Clear, is just a 10-minute drive from downtown Saranac Lake. There are currently three daily round-trip flights to Boston's Logan International Airport via Cape Air. The airport also currently welcomes private and charter planes. Starting this March, Cape Air will also be providing one daily round trip to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG), located an hour from Saranac Lake, has connections to and from Philadelphia, Dulles International, and connecting flights through American and United Airlines.

Adirondack Trailways provides bus service to the region.
