Features

Tent Sites, Waterfront Sites, Boat Launch

If you've ever dreamed of your own island, we can make it come true. All you need is a tent, a boat, and a reservation. All 87 of the campsites found at this public campground between Lower Saranac Lake and Middle Saranac Lake are water access only.

Camping

While you will find campsites on Upper Saranac Lake, they are primitive campsites filled on a first come, first served basis. All three of these lakes are part of the Saranac Chain of Lakes and are connected to the village of Saranac Lake by the Saranac River. Some are islands, some along the shores of the Lower and Middle Saranac Lake, but all are waterfront and offer lovely views. Day use areas, hiking trails, outhouses, and five lean-to sites for hardcore backpackers. Saranac Lake Islands is a public campground operated by NY State Department of Environmental Conservation, and reservations can be made using ReserveAmerica.com.
